Brenda Wojnowski

 

Brenda Wojnowski, Ed.D.
President and Founding Partner 

As President of Wojnowski & Associates, Inc., Dr. Brenda Shumate Wojnowski heads an education consulting firm primarily geared toward non-profit and university clients.

Areas of expertise include, evaluating education programs and developing research-based case studies and white papers; formulating and implementing strategic direction and vision in collaboration with board members and partner organizations; advising on securing and implementing grants and contracts from public and private funding sources; planning and providing professional development; creating curriculum products; other education related services, particularly in the STEM areas.

In her prior work as Senior Program Officer for the Texas High School Project, she was responsible for the oversight and development of STEM Academies and technical assistance support centers across the state of Texas. Prior to beginning work with the National Inventors Hall of Fame Foundation in Ohio where she was President of Inventive Education, Inc., Dr. Wojnowski was Associate Director of The Science House at NC State University. She has also served as Assistant Director of the Mathematics and Science Education Network, based at UNC Chapel Hill and as Director of science and mathematics outreach from the College of Education at UNC Greensboro. An award-winning teacher, Dr. Wojnowski has taught at the elementary, middle, and secondary levels as well as having served as a high school curriculum administrator. She holds a doctorate in curriculum and teaching, a Master of Arts in middle grades education, and an undergraduate degree in biology with a minor in secondary education. Dr. Wojnowski is currently president of the National Science Education Leadership Association. She has presented numerous workshops and invited talks as well as having served in a senior level capacity on many grants and contracts from public agencies and private foundations. Dr. Wojnowski has numerous publications to her credit.
 

 

 

Pamela BuckleyPamela Buckley, Ed.D.
Chief Academic Officer and Partner

As Chief Academic Officer of Wojnowski & Associates, Inc., Dr. Pam Buckley is responsible for setting the firm’s academic goals and overseeing the achievement of those goals. Dr. Buckley is a senior leader with extensive experience in program development, management and evaluation focusing on K-12 school improvement and instructional technology. Her areas of expertise include evaluating education programs and developing research-based case studies; formulating and implementing strategic direction and vision in collaboration with board members and partner organizations; advising on securing and implementing grants and contracts from public and private funding sources; planning and providing professional development; creating curriculum products; and advising on best practices for STEM instruction.

In her prior work as Program Officer for the Texas High School Project, she was responsible for the oversight and development of the seven T-STEM technical assistance support centers located at universities and regional service centers across the state of Texas. Prior to her work in Texas, Dr. Buckley was Executive Director of Kappa Delta Pi, an international honor society for educators.  She is a former vice president of Appalachia Educational Laboratory (AEL), where she was responsible for the oversight of all corporate technical assistance and training; and she also served as President of CEO Solutions, a for-profit division of AEL. She directed the Appalachia Eisenhower Regional Math/Science Consortium for ten years and led proposal writing teams bringing in $39 million in federally-funded projects.

Dr. Buckley’s international experience includes senior instructor positions in the training divisions of the Gulf Bank in Kuwait and at the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research. Dr. Buckley began her career as a junior high school reading teacher and taught social studies and English at the high school level. During mid-career, she served as the first Director of Training for the City of Houston’s Civil Service Division. She was formerly an Associate Professor at James Madison University in Virginia where she directed the Commonwealth Center for the Education of Teachers.

Dr. Buckley holds a doctorate in curriculum and instruction, a Master of Arts in Social Science, and a Bachelor’s degree in English. She currently serves as Vice President for Project GRAD USA, a non-profit education reform organization that is reaching more than 134,000 economically disadvantaged youth in 213 schools across the nation. She oversees a National College Readiness Initiative for Project GRAD that is funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
